New Designers 2017
From 5th to 8th July our Product Design and Architecture Technology students are participating in a annual exhibition in London. The exhibition brings together graduating students around the country from various disciplines to showcase the best of their work. We are proud that our Product Design course has been a participant for several years running and since 2016 they have also been joined by our Architectural Technology students. Royal Society of Arts Student Design Awards 2017 – building on our success

Degree show 2017
This years degree show will be held on the 9th of June. The official start is at 19:00 The 3D department will however hold its own ceremony to recognize its current graduates and this will be held at approximately 20:00 in MB14. Maidwell building. We hope to see all of our previous graduates, current students as well as prospective students in this day of celebration. School visit
On 01 of March we had the pleasure to host students from Halesowen School. The students were engaged in a task which combined the three programs we teach in the 3D department. The students were therefore to build a structure from given materials. The objectives were to build a structure that can hold a balloon, keep it as high as possible, use minimum amount of material and create a sense of enclosure for the model human. Working with Industry
Two of our Product Design 2nd year students have had the opportunity to work with Lord Design, a local design consultancy. They were asked to finish and paint large scale models for the BFG Monopoly game tokens. The objective was to achieve a good finish on the models to give them a similar appearance to that of the actual pieces. This was achieved through intricate sanding to keep the model details sharp and then using metallic effect spray paint. #ProductDesign

STEAM Event
On 8th of February, we took part in a STEAM event, which involved 15 local schools bringing groups of 8-year-old girls into the university. The children engaged in a variety of activities aimed to encourage girl to into science, technology, engineering, art and maths. Product Design hosted an activity called "Scrambled for Time", where the objective was to build a ramp out of K'Nex to roll an egg as far as possible for the chance to win a 3D printed prize of 'Norman the egg.'

Madrid Trip. November 2016
In November the 3D Design courses took a study trip to Madrid, between the 24th and 27th, while there the Interior Design Product Design and Architectural Technology students visited a variety of places. #InteriorDesign #ProductDesign #ArchitecturalTechnology

Freshers week
